Imperial College London — Systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses on diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer.
The aim of the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global), formerly known as the WCRF/AICR Continuous Update Project, is to review and evaluate the epidemiological evidence on the role of diet, nutrition, anthropometric characteristics, physical activity, and sedentary behaviour on cancer prevention and prognosis, by conducting updated systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses.
The Project has been on-going since 2007, led by Principal Investigator Dr Teresa Norat until January 2020, followed by co-Principal Investigators Drs Kostas Tsilidis and Doris Chan. Data from over 12,000 published research articles on 17 cancers have been collected, and more than 22 CUP Global systematic literature reviews have been conducted since 2007. For the next phase of CUP Global, we will expand our work by updating the evidence also through umbrella reviews of published meta-analyses.
More than 23 CUP Global SLRs have been conducted since 2007. They are available for download at wcrf.org/research-policy/library.
